A (very) incomplete list of the Telstra phone-booths across the City of Melbourne.
Google maps lists the locations of every Telstra phone booth in Australia (probably). This can be quite helpful, but there are two problems.
1. If you are checking where the nearest payphone is while out and about, you probably already have a smartphone on you.
2. Google only lists the general customer support number (1800 011 433), and not the one that can be used to directly call whichever
phone booth you're looking at.
To help remedy this problem that possibly no one else has considered before, I started working on this page (which is at this point only occasionally
updated) to help out.
The js code for this page is also rapidly deteriorating because I'm manually saving each phone booth as a variable, then calling
them as map pins, so I'll probably rework the page to retrieve data from a json or a spreadsheet or something.
Currently there isn't any method of user submission because the process of verifying entries would be far too time consuming
for me to do alone. Also, this website is more of a side project that I'm occasionally working on out of vague interest, so don't expect it to be
up-to-date.
